We galloped through chemo, and the induction phase is officially complete!
Erma finished her 5th and final round of chemotherapy during phase one of her treatment!
Thanks to all of your prayers, this was her most uneventful round yet with no sickness so far and she was a happy, joyful girly the entire time!
We spent our hospital days doing crafts and introducing her to some of the childhood classic movies we grew up loving. Her brother even got to visit for a special movie night! Thank you all for continuing to think of us and pray for us. I truly believe it’s because of those prayers that this round was so peaceful.
Now for a big request, one that honestly gives me anxiety just typing. Erma’s first official scan dates are set. On November 4th, she’ll have her CT and MRI, and on November 5th, she’ll have her big scan day with the MIBG scan and bone marrow aspiration.
The scans from November 5th will show whether her frontline treatment is working. It’s so important that her results look good so she can continue moving forward with treatment and begin the stem cell transplant phase.
Many of you ask for specific prayer requests, so here are some details:
In Erma’s type of cancer, neuroblastoma, doctors track progress using something called a Curie score, which ranges from 0–30. When we first arrived at St. Jude, her score was 16. After these scans, we’ll receive a new score that will tell us how much cancer is still present in her body, bones, and bone marrow. If her score is low enough, she can move into phase two of treatment!
Please pray for miraculous healing and that her Curie score would drop to an extremely low number… maybe even a 1 or 0.
Erma will be fasting on scan day, and I’ll be fasting and praying alongside her on November 5th. If you feel led, please join me in prayer and fasting that day as we ask God for a miracle for Erma.
Please feel free to share the date of November 5th and this post as I would like as many people praying for her scans as possible!!
