Tomorrow is Cell Day!

We enjoyed one wonderful day out of isolation, walking the halls, doing a scavenger hunt, and even riding a bike through the unit! Unfortunately, that freedom was short-lived, and we’re already back in isolation due to an infection. We’ll be confined to our room for the next two weeks. In the meantime, we’re doing every craft and activity we can find to help the days pass a little quicker!

The effects of chemo are definitely catching up with us. Her taste buds have changed so much that even thinking about food is overwhelming, but she continues to handle everything like an absolute champ.

Tomorrow is stem cell day, when she’ll receive an infusion of her own stem cells to help her bone marrow recover. While this is an exciting and hopeful step toward wiping out any remaining cancer cells, it’s also when things can get very serious for Erma.

Please be praying for strength, comfort, and resilience for her as she moves into this next phase. The coming days may bring significant pain, and she will likely need a pain pump to help manage the symptoms that come with this part of treatment.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us every day at 9 AM. We feel your prayers, and we love you all so much!
