Tomorrow is day -3. Erma has been so brave through her chemo, which has required round-the-clock baths and dressing changes. Many of her nurses have commented on how strong she’s been through all the uncomfortable and sometimes painful tasks, but the side effects of chemo are beginning to show. Her nausea has increased, and she has lost all appetite for food or drink.
Tomorrow, we will need to place a feeding tube to make sure she gets the nutrients she needs to stay strong. We’ve done our best to prepare her, but she is nervous, and so are we. Please pray that the process goes as smoothly and peacefully as possible. Pray for courage and peace.
Even with everything she’s facing, Erma continues to have moments of joy and brings so much light to our little corner of the hospital. Tomorrow will also be the first day she gets to leave her room and walk around the floor, a moment she has been looking forward to! We love you all and can’t thank you enough for your prayers.
God save Erma. God cure Erma.
