We slipped away to the The Still Place in North Carolina for a few days to slow down, rest, and thank God for the gift of clear scans last week. It felt good to step away from appointments and routines for a little while and simply be still in nature.
While we were there, we spent time praying for so many families we’ve met through St. Jude. If we know you and your child is battling cancer, please know your child’s name was spoken and prayed over often.
There were moments on this trip that felt so normal, and there were also moments that reminded us just how much cancer, treatment, and time apart have affected our family. We’ve been parenting from a place of survival mode, and there’s still a lot of healing ahead for all of us.
We’re leaving this trip feeling thankful for time together, time in nature, and the chance to reset before immunotherapy begins. Immunotherapy starts Thursday, and we are ready for this next and final six months of treatment!!
