Radiation begins Friday!

We will start with a trial run on Good Friday, and her actual treatments will begin the following Monday. Her last scheduled day of radiation is April 21st.

Erma’s radiation will target her spine, pelvic bones, and the tumor bed near her kidney. While there are serious long-term risks, we are choosing to focus on what this treatment is meant to do, fight what cancer remains and move her one step closer to healing. Radiation is a powerful and effective part of her care, and we are grateful to be entering this next phase!

Each day, Erma will be put to sleep for her treatment. We are thankful for an early morning time slot that falls around 9am each day. We are asking, once again, for you to join us in prayer. If you’re willing, please set an alarm for 9:00 AM starting Friday through April 21st and cover Erma in prayer....for no complications, for peace over her body, and that she tolerates the daily sedation well.

If you feel led to pray specifically

• Pray for protection over her organs, especially her kidney

• Pray her skin is shielded and her growth remains unaffected

• Pray her spine is protected from damage

• Pray this radiation effectively destroys any remaining cancer in her bones

In true Erma fashion, she was actually excited to get her six little radiation tattoos, of course she’d be the first in our family with tattoos I just didn't think it would be so soon!

We are so incredibly grateful for every prayer, every message, and every person believing in complete healing for Erma. We are looking forward to the day she rings that bell at the end of radiation. While it won’t mark the end of treatment, it will mean we’re moving into immunotherapy and getting closer to moving home.
